- Mel Brooks, Carol Littleton, Michelle Satter, and Angela Bassett will each receive the Jean Hersholt Humanitarian Award at the 2023 Governors Awards presented by the Academy.

- Young Frankenstein and Blazing Saddles both garnered nominations for Brooks, who also won an Oscar for “The Producers” screenplay. Additionally, he conceived the Broadway musical and authored scripts for Sid Caesar’s TV series.
- With years of experience, Littleton has edited movies like “Body Heat,” “The Big Chill,” “Places in the Heart,” and “E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial.” The Sundance Institute was started by Sattler, who is also in charge of the extensive educational network.
