- Roland Chawey, 39, was found dead in a well in the Eastern region’s Asokore area in New Juaben North municipality. On August 28, 2023, early in the morning, the dead is believed to have committed suicide by jumping into the well.
- An unidentified man’s clothing and sandals were found adjacent to the well, and villagers told Isaac Osei, an assemblyman from the Fofie Electoral Area, that they thought the person had drowned.
- After verifying the information, he then called the police, fire department, and NADMO in an effort to save the victim, but the person was disappointingly discovered dead.
- His body has been placed in the St. Joseph Hospital mortuary.
- Sources claim that the late Chawey Roland, a notorious drug user, suddenly fell unwell and was admitted to St. Joseph Hospital, but he managed to get out.
