- Ashanti Gold SC has been suspended from all football competitions by GFA. This decision was confirmed at GFA’s 29th Ordinary Congress.

- The Miners were suspended from football due to a match-fixing scandal involving Inter Allies FC on July 21, 2021.
- FA General Secretary and Black Stars team manager raised and seconded respectively, the issue of excluding Ashanti Gold’s in Premier League whilst Alhaji Grusah asked for a vote for their return.
- After voting on the issue, 64 congress members opposed Ashanti Gold’s return for the 2023-24 league season, while only 17 supported their inclusion.
- Ashanti Gold SC’s suspension means they lose all membership rights and cannot play any football, including the Ashanti Regional Football Association Division Two League.
