- The Medical and Dental Council has announced that it would create a five-year strategic development plan that is in line with important sector regulations and that it will devise procedures for the common registration exam for medical and dental professionals with training from both domestic and foreign institutions.

- “We are gathered here this morning to induct into the profession three hundred and twenty-seven (327) medical and dental practitioners,” the Registrar of the Medical and Dental Council, Dr Divine Banyubala said,
- As they went from being students to professionals, Dr. Banyubala reminded the incoming medical professionals of their duty, emphasizing that they were now directly responsible for the lives of people entrusted to their care.
- “Inductees, what this means is that from today, a greater responsibility in the care of the patients will be laid at your feet as you take the role of frontline professionals. This role literally includes the responsibility to decide between life and death.”
- Alhaji Hafiz Adam, the Chief Director of the Ministry of Health, voiced concern about the behavior and attitude of certain medical personnel, citing instances of improper, unethical, and negligent treatment that result in the abuse of their authority to provide care for people.
