- To support the cashless system at the power distribution firm, new functionalities have been added to the Electricity firm of Ghana PowerApp. Customers with smart prepaid meters in the Volta Region will be able to check their usage history in addition to statements, reading invoices, and payment histories, which are among the new capabilities.
- The news was made public by Christina Jatoe-Kaleo, the Volta Regional General Manager of ECG, at the first sessional meeting of the Volta Regional Coordinating Council in Ho.
- Customers are encouraged to utilize the cashless system through the ECG PowerApp, which is free of MoMo fees and E-levy.
- Customers who want to pay their bills or buy prepaid credit can download or update the ECG PowerApp. Customers may conduct business with ECG using the app from any location at any time, and it offers real-time information on their payments and the ability to report problems.
- The system will immediately reimburse money to the PowerApp wallet if a transaction is deducted after it fails.
- Madam Jatoe-Kaleo reminded the crowd of the two-month national revenue mobilization campaign known as “Operation Zero,” which urged consumers to pay their bills in order to prevent disconnection and allow ECG to generate enough cash to continue the energy supply chain.
- She pleaded with the public to assist the business in finding those who were consuming electricity illegally so that it wouldn’t go bankrupt.
