- His Excellency Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa, the president of Portugal, and Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, the president of the Republic of Ghana, have signed bilateral agreements in the following areas;
- A defense co-operation agreement that will allow the two countries to collaborate on issues such as peacekeeping, maritime security, counter-terrorism, cyber security, and defense industry development.
- A political consultation mechanism that will enable regular dialogue and exchange of views on bilateral, regional and international matters of mutual interest.
- A trade and investment agreement that will facilitate the promotion of business opportunities, market access, and economic co-operation between the two countries.
- The relationship between Ghana and Portugal would be significantly strengthened by this most recent kind of collaboration.
- This agreement will also support the Ghana-Portugal Business Forum, which is scheduled to be held on Wednesday, 19th July 2023.
- The Ghana-Portugal Business Forum is a platform for entrepreneurs, investors, and business people from both countries to network, share, and explore possible avenues for cooperation in various sectors of Ghana’s economy. The forum is scheduled to be held on Wednesday, 19th July 2023 in Lisbon, Portugal, as part of the 3-day State Visit of President Akuffo-Addo. The forum is expected to add value to the investment initiatives and trade relations between Ghana and Portugal.
