- In the event that he wins the presidency in the general elections, former president John Dramani Mahama, the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC)’s 2024 flag bearer, has promised to lead Ghana’s youngest administration ever.
- Mahama clarified that as young people make up the bulk of the population, it is fitting that they comprise a majority of his cabinet. He assured that, after January 7, 2025, the NDC government will be among the youngest in the nation’s history.
- In order to incorporate young interests across all economic sectors, Mahama also pledged to establish a Ministry of young Development inside the already-existing Ministry of Youth and Sports.
- He underlined that by promoting his 24-hour economy strategy, the new ministry will concentrate on tactics that generate employment for young people.
- With the goal of hiring more young people, the ministry of youth development will work with companies and industries to persuade them to participate in the project. Industries will receive incentives to increase employment and reduce manufacturing costs.
