- The processing fees for Ghanaian passport applications have risen as of April 1, 2024. The booklet with 48 pages will now cost GH¢800, and the booklet with 32 pages will cost GH¢700.
- A conventional 32-page booklet will set you back GH¢500, and a 48-page booklet GH¢644. The revision of previous levies from GH¢100 to GH¢644 was suggested by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration.
- Shirley Ayorkor Botchwey, the minister of foreign affairs, contended that the government could no longer afford to continue financing passports.
- According to her, a passport costs around GH¢100 for Ghanaians, but producing a single booklet costs GH¢400, hence the government must pay GH¢300 for each passport that is obtained.
