- Blogger Sammy Kay, whose real name is Samuel Dortey Kumah, was detained and turned over to the Ghana Police Service’s Criminal Investigations Department (CID) for disseminating pornographic photos and using an official Cyber Security Authority photo without authorization.
- Abena Korkor said that she sent the sexually explicit film to just two recipients and accused two persons of being behind it. Another graphic video was shared on social media on Wednesday morning, tagged with reference to the security guard that Korkor had stated.
- According to reports, Sammy Kay also shared the aforementioned photos and connected them to certain pictures of Cyber Security Authority (CSA) personnel.
- According to a news release from the Cyber Security Authority (CSA), labeling photos with sexual content is misleading and constitutes illegal attribution.
- The CSA issues a statement separating itself from the situation and cautioning the public not to believe any possible criminal deception.
- In order to preserve Ghanaians’ online safety and the digital ecosystem, the CSA will persist in carrying out its mandate in coordination with other security sector organizations.
- Later on Wednesday, November 15, 2023, Sammy Kay apologized for the previous post and took down the aforementioned photograph from Instagram. Sammy Kay apologized profusely in the message, expressing sorry for any annoyance the post may have caused.
