- Santa Clara, California is undergoing a Swiftover in preparation for Taylor Swift’s big Eras Tour. The town will be known as “Swiftie Clara” for the games on July 28 and 29 at Levi’s Stadium, according to the mayor of the town. In recognition of Taylor Swift’s fan base, tours, and beneficial local influence, the 33-year-old singer has been elected the honorary mayor. The mayor, Lisa Gillmor, who was present for the news conference, was attired in a light purple jacket and a friendship bracelet bearing the name “Swiftie Clara.” The two performances mark the halfway point of the Eras Tour’s North American leg, which will come to a close at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California, on August 3, 4, 5, 7, 8, and 9.
- The previous mayors to give Swift the reins were Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey, who briefly changed the city’s name to Swiftieapolis, and Minnesota Governor Tim Waltz, who declared June 23–24 to be “Taylor Swift Days.”
