- People of Abemkyim, close to Anwiankwanta in the Ashanti Region, are in shock following the weekend murder of an 18-year-old woman by unidentified intruders.
- After leaving work on Friday, September 15, Georgina Agyemang, an apprentice, could not be found, which prompted police to take action.
- Following crime scene cleanup, the officers transported the body to the Bekwai Municipal Hospital to be preserved before an autopsy.
- According to Frank Awuah, an assemblyman representing the region, who verified the occurrence to Asaase News, the police have contacted the families of the deceased to progress investigations.
- “This new development is alarming. A group of police officers led by the regional police commander were present. There have been no detentions. There are frantic efforts being made to find those responsible for this horrible murder, according to Awuah.
- “For the moment, the locals are terrified. Even the victim’s mother was admitted to the hospital as a result of the news. The security in that region needs to be strengthened because some of the residents are considering moving and because the area is actually a new construction site.
